Solar Hearts is the sonic vessel of songwriter and vocalist Christopher Hewat, who’s been performing original feel-good-folk-pop from early days in New England to subsequent years spanning both coasts. Landing most recently in Asheville, NC, he’s been playing live shows from New York to L.A., to wide swaths of NC and VA.
Christopher continues to pull from his roots of being steeped in classic rock, folk, and Mowtown soul, with what emerges as unique and familiar; garnering comparisons to John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Jason Mraz. Over the years he’s performed supporting artists including: The Connells, Juliana Hatfield, 4NonBlondes, Tim Reynolds’ TR3, Sounding Arrow, and Gary Jules.
Solar Hearts performs solo and full band shows, proudly flexing a new line-up; featuring Greg Lawing (keys, vox), Bert “Fatty B” Handy (bass, vox), and Micael Berndt (drums). Song placements in film and tv include tracks for the indie film “A Dance For Bethany” and guest vocals on Together We Will Run, by Somer, featured on Love Is Blind (Netflix), and Amber Brown (AppleTV).
The EP, 'Strange The Way We Love', marks the emergence of Solar Hearts: an original blend of indie folk; flavored with americana, vintage soul, and classic rock unplugged. Organic Soul Pop.
Along with an outstanding array of players, producer, Scott Kinnebrew (Sounding Arrow, Truth&Salvage Co.), and engineer Stewart Myers (Jason Mraz, Gomez) helped craft the 'Strange The Way We Love' EP into existence, followed by mastering engineer Gary Lurssen's finishing touches (T-Bone Burnett).
